Our drug treatment program has a 76% success rate.
More than three quarters of those who have completed the program over the past six years have not returned to illicit drug use or been arrested.
A Teen Rehabilitated
When 14-year-old A.S. entered the program she had been addicted to crystal meth for more than six years. She had been sexually abused by her stepfather and countless other males in her family. To escape her pain she turned to drugs, becoming hooked and getting violent toward her family members. Soon the county put her in a short-term group home to prevent her from ending up in jail.
In the group home, she was put on three mind-altering drugs prescribed by psychiatrists referred by her school. Those drugs made her feel worse, so she continued to sneak the crystal meth, getting high in the bathroom at school, a violation of group home rules.
To prevent her expulsion from the group home, A.S. was brought to our clinic. Her eyes were apathetic and hope-drained. We told her that we would help her to achieve her dreams, as you could see the love, knowledge, and strength she yearned to share with others. A.S. began participating in the communication drills and receiving some one-on-one sessions with one of our staff.
A.S. committed to cease getting high and to try the methods in our clinic. She was put on a protocol that prevents side effects of withdrawal as we weaned her off the street drugs and "psych meds." The intense protocol included vitamins, exercise, sweating in the dry heat sauna for five hours daily for up to 26 consecutive days.
She began communicating honestly and effectively with our staff, the group home, teachers and counselors. Soon she felt it was time to begin to help others. A.S. is currently drug-free and has helped her younger sister to also get off drugs. |
